Our Famous Natchitoches Meat Pie’s Original Meat Pie is a beef and pork blend that is moderately spicy, with a unique blend of spices for a great Cajun taste. The ability to be used in most food service venues, along with a prepare-from-frozen cooking method and a 4-hour hold time in hot cases, makes our pies a quick-serve, labor-saving, and tasty addition to almost any menu!!
• The bulk Original Meat Pies are packed in a master case with 4 plastic inner bags containing 12 pies each. The inner bags have a slight “pillow effect” to help avoid product damage during shipping and storing
• The Original Meat Pie is a 3.75 oz. pie about 4.75”x3.5”x1” in size. The weight is approximately a 50/50 split between filling and pastry. The filling is precooked and placed on dough before dough is folded over and crimped closed. Pies are then flash frozen and remain in a frozen state until cooking
• Yields 48 3.75 oz. servings per case
• Made with high quality pork, beef, spices and fresh-cut vegetables
• Deep Frying: Fill a deep skillet or electric fryer halfway with oil, using enough to fully cover pies. Preheat Oil to 375°F. Carefully place frozen pies into hot oil. Cook for 8-9 minutes
• Baking: Preheat oven to 400°F. Place frozen pies on sprayed or oiled cookie sheet. Lightly brush both sides of each pie with oil or spray with cooking spray. Butter also works well. Bake for 25 minutes until the center is hot
• Cooking Note: Heat until internal temperature is equal to or greater than 158°F
• Pies should be transported and stored frozen at temperatures between -10° and 20° Fahrenheit. Keep pies frozen until ready to cook
• Master cases are Julian dated with the date product was made, and pies have a 270-day frozen shelf life from the date of manufacture
• Pies can be baked or fried and held under heat lamps or a hot case for up to 4 hours after cooking. Remember to cook the pies from frozen. Thawing is not necessary

• Meat pies are also referred to as Empanadas at times and can be served in Mexican restaurants with refried beans and rice. For additional flavor, be sure to drizzle the pies with Queso
